Blind Dates

Imagine this... you await your date in a K-Mart parking lot. Every car that drives by you think "could that be him? or please don't be him." Through your rear view mirror you see a short man approach your car. He is dressed in a red sweatshirt with no hood, black Wrangler pants rolled up and black, grandpa velcro tennis shoes. He is five foot nothing. You step out of your car and tower over him in your trendy boots, flavorful scarf and swagger- yet none of that will be used on this date. He escorts you to his car. You sit down and realize due to his vertical challenge his seat is a foot ahead of yours. Communication will not happen in the car. You arrive at dinner and every table you pass turns to evaluate the unique match up of man and woman. You sit. Eat. Listen and leave. Upon leaving the restaurant, he enthusiatically suggests a visit to the good old Deseret Industries, otherwise known as the DI. Little does he know that you enter that store once a year to find the tackiest, wildest items in the store but the whole visit is done with your hands in your pockets. Come to find out he is the complete opposite. He notices price inflation from varying stores, knows where to find the trends in the SLC store and knows exactly where to find each item in the store. Take me to any other clothing store and I can do the same with my hands out of my pockets. After twenty long minutes of wandering you suggest to head over to the theater, the real reason for the date. You have already warned your friend in the play that he is a blind date which explains everything. You arrive at the theater and he becomes elated. Theater is his passion. He walks you through all of his roles and his background in theater than tells you his connection with every cast member in the show. Hairspray. Loved it. Thank you's from date for taking him to Hairspray 15. You reject the invitation for ice cream. Jump out of your car. Pump the jams and thank God for another blind date.
